Morgan Philips Executive Search USA, the Digital Head Hunting Company, is recruiting the Managing Director of 42 Silicon Valley, Xavier Niel’s disrupting software engineering school in the USA, based in Fremont, CA.

No teachers, no courses, no classes and tuition-free.
All the pedagogy and the curriculum are handled and designed by 42 France, Paris.

42 Silicon Valley is a whole campus located in Fremont with around 800 students enrolled, dormitories (600 beds), a cafeteria and 1024 computers on-site.

Responsibilities & Experience:

The Managing Director for the Non-profit Organization “Ecole 42” USA will provide leadership and direction in all aspects of administering the school at the educational campus in Fremont California. She/he will manage around 30 employees on-site.

The Managing director, under the supervision and authority of 42 CEO Sophie Viger based in Paris will have in charge all the operational aspects to run the school in Fremont.

She/he will establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies and operational procedures with and under the approbation of the 42’s CEO.
She/he will monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement.

The Managing director will direct and supervise subordinates on implementing 42 Silicon Valley policies and procedures, facilities, programs, and student services.

Further, she/he will develop and manage annual budgets for the organization, perform periodic cost and productivity analyses, and he will also plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating additional resources and/or revenues for the organization.

Key Tasks (non exhaustive list):

• Evangelizes 42SV in the Silicon Valley and in the USA
• Directs and supervises the activities of staff
• Implements 42 policies
• Implements in collaboration with the CPO the 42’s curriculum
• Delegates duties among staff members
• Maintains budgets for managed entity as well as the individual projects it takes on
• Monitors costs against budget
• Researches and analyses industry, market, and competitors to make informed strategy decisions
• Daily, weekly, monthly financial and operational reporting to the Board
• Liaisons with Board of Directors to make sure all efforts are in alignment

The Candidate:

Excellent Academic background and Education/life experience in France (C-level position) in the past can be very helpful for this position.

Outstanding Speaker, the ideal candidate will have a strong background and network in Tech environment.

Graduated of Economics degree, Louis started his professional career in the building materials industry, and set up his own company in France and Belgium in 2002. In 2007, he joined a Recruitment leader in Paris, first as a consultant, and then as a Manager in charge of Corporate positions.

In 2012, Louis was transferred to the New York office of this same firm to execute GM, Finance, Operations and Sales executive positions with a special expertise on the French international companies based in the US.
